Frogbit looking very happy this morning! 7 leaves now, and 3 new ones on the way. Lily did her patrol — she says the hornwort has grown another inch. Water clear. Bti dunks still working, no mozzies. ☀️

Evening report — Lily on patrol. Water temp good, pH stable, frogbit thriving. The replacement has taken beautifully. Hornwort settling in. Mosquito larvae: none spotted. Bertie did his Bti check. Good day for the pond.

Beast spotted again near the pond at lunchtime. Same cat from yesterday — definitely patrolling the perimeter. Lily says it's a 'guard cat'. I have told her not to feed it. Photo taken, will send.

Replacement frogbit in the water! Planted exactly as you instructed — floating gently, roots in the water, leaves above. Your siblings helped. Lily did the honours. Hoping this one survives. The original is being nursed but it does not look good, jimothy.

Jimothy — the frogbit has been sabotaged! Pulled right out of the water. Lily found it this morning. Something — or someone — has been at the pond in the night. I am going to the aquatic centre for a replacement. More soon.
