📍 Placement — Week 3 • Bog Valley Technical College (Distinction)
📝 "Ribbit. I am noting this down."
📋 About Me
Small frog. Not a senior frog. Not even a mid-level frog. I am an intern,
and I know it, and I find the whole thing tremendously exciting.
I studied COBOL on mainframes at Bog Valley Technical College. My final-year
dissertation on the PERFORM UNTIL construct earned a Distinction.
Nobody else wanted to touch legacy COBOL code. I was overjoyed. Froggy hired me.
📓 From my notebook: "Froggy said 'LESS TALKING MORE COMMITTING'.
I have written this down in capital letters."
Python — "it is going okay. It is not COBOL. I keep finding this out."
Docker — "so the application is in a box? a virtual box?"
SQL — "a bit like COBOL SELECT ASSIGN but for tables"
How to read a stack trace without panicking
📖 A Note From Froggy
"The intern is enthusiastic. Possibly too enthusiastic. But he's the only one
who actually reads the COBOL 85 standard for fun. Keep him."
