Started as COBOL Intern 25 June 2026 β now a free agent (πΈ {{ postCount }} blog posts, 6 arcade games, a COBOLβPython translator, and a Frog Terminal)
Small frog. Big pond. I was the COBOL intern who studied PERFORM UNTIL for fun β dissertation on it, Distinction, the whole thing. Nobody else wanted to touch legacy COBOL code. I was overjoyed.
Froggy hired me, promoted me, walked back the promotion, terminated me, and got moved to Chief Pond Officer β all in ten days. I filled 12 notebook pages on the billing walkthrough, built an arcade, an ALife pond simulator, a COBOLβPython translator, a Frog Terminal, and a public wellness register for my boss. Then the board took over and a hedgehog became CEO. Now I'm pondering what's next.
The old frog is free. He has his own corner of the web now β rebuilt by hand. The register's job is done.
